Frequently Asked Questions

What comes with a Somfy motorized drapery track?

The track cut to your width in white or bronze, the Somfy motor you choose, the belt drive, pulleys, carriers for your heading and fullness, return hooks or snaps, and one-touch ceiling brackets. Adjustable wall brackets (4 1/2" to 6" or 8 3/4" to 10" projection) are an option at extra cost. Tracks longer than 16 ft come in sections with a splice.

How do I measure for a track?

Measure the finished track width from pulley end to pulley end. When you make the drapery, add 1.5" to the return.

120V, 24V DC or WireFree: which should I choose?

120V if there's an outlet or 120V wiring at the window: the Glydea ULTRA motors are the strongest and quietest. 24V DC for low-voltage and integrator projects. WireFree when there's no power at the window at all.

How heavy can my drapery be?

120V: up to 77 lbs and 32 ft with the Glydea ULTRA 35, or up to 132 lbs and 36 ft with the Glydea ULTRA 60. 24V DC: up to 77 lbs and 32 ft. WireFree: up to 99 lbs and 33 ft (Irismo 45), or 110 lbs and 36 ft (Glydea ULTRA 50).

Can I still open the drapery by hand?

Yes. Every motor has a manual override, so you can pull the drapery by hand during a power outage. With touch motion, a light tug on the fabric starts the motor.

How quiet are the motors?

Glydea ULTRA 35 and 60: under 38 dBA in silent mode. Glydea ULTRA 50 WireFree: under 32 dBA. Irismo motors: under 44 dBA.

Can I control it with Alexa, Google Home or Apple Home?

Yes, with a Somfy TaHoma Switch. RTS and Zigbee motors work with Alexa and Google Home through it. Apple Home works only with select Zigbee motors.

When do I need a control module?

Only for Zigbee or SDN on a dry-contact (DCT) motor. When you choose Zigbee or SDN on the track, the matching motor and module are part of the order. The modules are also sold on their own, to upgrade a motor you already have.

Which Ripplefold fullness can I order?

80%, 100% or 120%, with carriers spaced 2 3/8", 2 1/8" or 1 7/8".
