The Somfy TaHoma switch is a wireless smart home hub designed to centralize and automate motorized window coverings, lighting, and climate systems. It acts as a bridge between Somfy's proprietary radio frequencies and open internet protocols, enabling app control, scheduling, and third-party smart home system interaction.

Product Specifications

Dual Shading Radios: Simultaneously embeds an RTS transmitter (433.42 MHz) to control older legacy motors and a Zigbee 3.0 chip (2.4 GHz) to connect with modern bidirectional motors.

Wi-Fi Dependent: Operates over standard 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi for flexible standalone placement anywhere in the home without requiring a hardwired ethernet link.

RTS Threshold: Supports up to 40 channels of standard RTS products (such as motorized drapes, awnings, or roller shades).

Zigbee 3.0 Limit: Pairs directly with up to 60 Somfy Zigbee motors/actuators, managing bi-directional percentage telemetry.

Scale Limits: Up to 10 TaHoma switches can be linked together within the same home network to expand wireless range and build large, multi-zone installations.

Functional Design Highlights

The TaHoma app allows users to set schedules, create scenes, and control all window treatments remotely from anywhere. Compatible with Amazon Alexa, Google Home, Apple Home (with select Zigbee motors), Philips Hue, Control4, Crestron, Savant, Elan, RTI, URC, SmartThings, and more via the Somfy Synergy API.
